One business each

Category addresses.

A Local Business Page can live at a category address — insandpoint.com/handyman — instead of the usual longer one. One business holds each, and when a holder stops renewing it goes to whoever asked first.

How it works

Two ways in, depending on what you need.

1

Add it yourself, free

Fill in the listing form — name, hours, contact details, a few photos. No account to create, nothing to install.

2

We review and publish

Every submission gets checked by a human before it goes live, so the directory stays worth reading. Usually same day.

3

Or hand it to us

Want the paid page instead? Send your details and goals and we write the copy and lay the page out for you.

4

Approve and go live

Review a live preview and request tweaks until it's right. One round of revisions included, live within 48 hours.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is the directory listing really free?

Yes, and it stays free — hours, contact details, photos, map and reviews on your own page. We make money on the paid pages and nothing else. There's no trial, no card, and no listing that expires and holds your page hostage.

What does the paid page get me that the free one doesn't?

Copy written for you rather than a contact card you filled in yourself, a full photo layout, placement on the homepage and at the top of the directory, and a category address that's easy to put on a business card. The free listing is a complete page; the paid one is a page built to sell something specific. Full details here.

Is it a one-time fee or a subscription?

It's annual, and the first year includes building the page. $249 is the founding rate — good through January 1, 2027 or the first 10 businesses, whichever comes first. After that it's $349 to $699 a year depending on your category, and anyone who came in at the founding rate keeps it for three years. If you stop renewing, your page doesn't disappear: it stays live as a normal directory listing, and the category address keeps pointing at it until another business takes that address over.

Why does a plumber pay more than a pizza place?

Because one job is worth more. A single emergency call can be several hundred dollars to a plumber; a single pizza order is a few dollars of margin to a restaurant. Charging both the same would overcharge the restaurant and undercharge the trade. The page and the placement are identical in every tier — only the price moves.

What happens to /handyman if I give it up?

It goes to the next business on the waiting list. A category address belongs to the category, not to any one business — that's exactly why it's worth holding, and it's the honest trade. We won't hand it over while you're still renewing, and we'll email you before your term ends. What we won't do is promise you a URL forever and then quietly resell it; if you want an address that's permanently yours, that's your own domain, and we'll happily link your listing to it.

Do I need my own website?

No — that's the point. Plenty of Sandpoint businesses don't need a full website yet. A page here gets you online immediately, and you can graduate to a standalone site later if you ever want one. If you already have a site, your listing links straight to it.

Will this help me show up on Google?

It helps, and we'd rather be straight with you about how. Your page carries the structured data search engines read — business type, hours, location, contact details and review ratings — which is more than most Sandpoint directories publish, and it's another place your name, address and phone appear consistently. What nobody can honestly promise is a ranking. We build the page properly; Google decides the rest.

How fast can my page go live?

Free listings usually publish the same day we review them. Paid pages publish within 48 hours of receiving your content — real estate listings with a lot of photos or video may take a little longer.

Can I update or expand my page later?

Absolutely. Send us the change and we'll make it — new hours, more photos, a new offer, extra detail. Sellers can mark a property pending or sold with one message.

Do you take a commission on home sales?

Never. For sale by owner means you keep your equity. You pay a flat fee to list — no agent commission, no closing surprises from us.
